A Look Inside Porter and Chester Institute's New Welding Program

Porter and Chester Institute - Bridgeport (PCI) has recently opened a new program in the skilled trades field. In addition to Career Industrial, Commercial, and Residential Electrician, Electrical Technology, HVACR, Low Voltage Technology, and Plumbing, PCI is launching an all-new welding program. Positions such as welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers are expected to grow 8% nationally from 2020-2030, which means that getting involved in this program may be a great fit for you.

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)

Scheduling:

Day Program: 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday or Thursday-Saturday

Evening Program: 3 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday or Thursday-Saturday
