CNA Community Service Grant
The CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Community Service grant offered at Porter and Chester Institute (PCI) is for CNAs who enroll in the Practical Nursing program. This grant is only available at the Connecticut campuses that teach Practical Nursing.
In order to qualify for this grant, applicants must upload a picture of their valid CNA certification through the document section of the online admissions portal. To help during the financial aid process, it is important to upload an image of the certification as soon as possible. Applicants receiving the CNA Community Service grant, are not eligible for other institutional grants, without a special exception.
This non-renewable grant is for $2,000, and the grant will be disbursed evenly across the five terms of the Practical Nursing program and credited after the student has successfully completed the term.
If you believe that you are eligible for this grant, upload a picture of your valid CNA certification to the documents section on the admissions portal prior to your Educational Funding meeting. Upon speaking with your Educational Funding specialist, let them know that you have uploaded the CNA certification. . You will be informed one a determination has been made if you qualify.
Medical Assisting to Practical Nursing Grant
Recent graduates of the Medical Assisting program at Porter and Chester Institute who wish to enroll in Porter and Chester Institute’s Practical Nursing program are eligible to apply for a Practical Nursing Grant to offset the double tuitions.
Your grant amount is determined by the time elapsed since your Medical Assisting program completion. Mention this grant during your Educational Funding appointment and your Educational Funding Specialist will discuss eligibility and the potential grant amount with you Applicants receiving this grant are not eligible for other institutional grants.
