Depending on the trade, apprenticeships can take several years to complete, and may combine classroom or technical instruction in addition to your time on the job. In addition, your experience can vary depending on the employer, trade, and projects available during your apprenticeship.

So, while “earn while you learn” sounds pretty great, make sure you’re looking at the whole experience—not just the price tag.
